Pre-purchase Sorrento-Capri ferry tickets

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but the search function on this site is not the best when trying to find specific posts. I know this has been brought up in the past but I wanted to get confirmation from others about this. Taking a day trip to Capri from Sorrento and want the first boat out at 7:45 am with Caremar (after checking schedules online I believe this is the earliest boat out). I was wanting to buy the roundtrip tickets online just because I like to pre-purchase most things before going on my trips. However, Caremar charges a little extra to buy tickets online. So would it be safe to hold off and just purchase the morning of (or even purchase them the day before if that's allowed?)? Date is for June 13. Thanks!

You shouldn’t have a problem getting those day of. I went in the early morning during late May and just got on the next boat. The “slow” ferry to and from Sorrento carries a lot of passengers. You also beat all the crowds that early. Same applies for the ride back. You may decide you want to leave earlier or something, so I would just buy the return on Capri. I never came close to getting closed out on a ferry anywhere there, often buying just moments before the ferry left!

Thanks. I'll just buy them a couple of days before we plan on going to Capri.
