Pre concert at Parco Della Musica,Rome, recommendations for dinner outdoors early May

Will be doing a rare thing, ttending a jazz concert while on vacation. We are about 60,OMG, would like a great meal pre concert, was thinking Piazza Del Popolo area for its location and has a cab rank, close to concert venue. Price range moderate but service, food and outdoor view high priority. We are foodies. Rome.

Tough combo near Piazza: view, moderate price, AND good food.

We have had many good meals at the Prati-located sister restaurant to SiciliainBocca Flaminio, but AFAIK there is no outdoor "view" and probably not outdoor seating.

Not too far away (at least a quick cab ride) is Taverna Rossini, which was a "go-to" place for us. They have a very nice pescheria (fish restaurant) or the more casual ristorante/pizzeria. Great outdoor seating, very convivial, but not a "view." They will call you a cab.

I will keep thinking....

You might look at Piazza Euclide or Viale dei Parioli - closer to the venue and are supposed to have some great restaurants.

Thanks Janet and Laurel , I am checking these out. I don't mind if its expensive, but need to be finished by 8 pm to get to the concert will call for the tickets I purchased. And not formal either. Just nice and good quality with very good service.

Then you will love Taverna Rossini. Unlike many Italian restaurants, they are open early. If you go at 18:00 and tell them you are on a schedule, you will be out before 20:00.

Having lived in Parioli for years, we did not find any of the Viale dei Parioli restaurants exceptional. Some are old and worn (Il Caminetto), a newer one (Big Al) is a rip-off for non-Italian speakers (long story). Molto is good, but uneven service and they don't open for dinner until 19:30.
