Folks We didn't want to go through the multiple train & bus changes from Florence to Praiano and hence looking to rent a car in mid-sept. I know the traffic around Amalfi is bad but is it bad around a small town like Praiano too? It's nice to have the luxury to drive into a nearby restaurant for dinner, etc Thanks

The problem is more the parking. Make sure your hotel has parking arrangements (either in the hotel or with a local garage).

Praiano is strung along the main Almalfi Coast road. Hence the traffic issues. Have a look at the lay out of the village using Google Streetview.
