We're staying for 5 days in the Amalfi Coast...Does anyone have a recommendation for location? I am considering both Positano, and also Praiano which is about halfway between Positano and Amalfi. Thanks.

Positano is abosolutely magnificent. We've been all over Europe and it's hard to beat.
We stayed at Villa Rosa there with a large balcony overlooking the town. It was hard to leave.
We drove all over Amalfi coast and it splendid, you'll enjoy it wherever you choose to stay.

We stayed 2 days in Praiano and loved it. However, I think that Positano might be a better option. We found the bus system very frustrating, either full or very late, waited over 30 min on a few occasions.
We stayed at Hotel Onde Verde, which was beautiful.

My vote is for Positano, one of our favorite places on earth. We spent three wonderful days there on a trip five years ago, and are going back in September for three more. You'll love it.

Buses are often packed, and you may wait some time for the next. Staying in one town helped. Any town touched by a ferrry is nice as the ride on ferry is much more pleasant. We liked positano, but three days was enuf.

We stayed in Positano....actually down on the beach almost....with a room overlooking the ocean...slept each night with the ocean so close.....we had a pool, wonderful large american type buffet, pizza and gellato on teh beach.......There is a wonderful restaurant that I can look up the name if you want. They have 450 candles in lights...and you eat dinner overlooking the ocean in a candelight restaurant.....Our last night of our trip was spent here......Marilee

My husband and I stayed at the Open Gate Hotel in Praiano several years ago and loved it.
