We will be staying in Praiano in Sept. We were told we could walk into the town of Amalfi Is this so, how far is it . If we take a bus how long is the ride? Does the town have shops, cafe, etc? Thanks

Praiano has a few restaurants and cafes and small food shops etc scatterd through the town. See also answers to your post (about walking to Amalfi) in the General section of the Forum and my advice to use Streetview to see what Praiano looks like. It is a good place to sit back and enjoy the view and has some good hiking options in the surrounding hills/mountains. The nearest town that could be described as being within reasonable walking distance of Amalfi is Atrani. PS - you will see from the current timetable below that the bus journey takes 25 minutes. It's a long walk from Praiano to Amalfi. It's at least 7 or 8 km (5 miles). By bus it's about 25 or 30 min depending on traffic.
