Praiano in April

My trip is all set, thanks for all your input. Now I'm just trying to decide which places to visit during our trip.
We will be arriving in Praiano on April 3rd midday leaving on April 7th. That'll give us three full days in the area. I'd like to hire a driver to take us to explore the Amalfi Coast, which towns should we not miss? Also, I will be celebrating my birthday and would like your suggestions for a wonderful dinner in Praiano.
Thank you.

Why spend a huge amount on a driver? Take the bus and the ferry. Any road your driver takes will be the same road the buses use and just as slow. There's almost nowhere to pass on the road and at many bus stops, the road's too narrow to pass when the bus stops for passengers. The views are different from the ferry. You can get to the ferry in Positano and Amalfi by bus. The towns are all lovely, but you have to explore them on foot anyway. Take the bus up to Ravello from Amalfi town and then walk back down. Stop at Sal de Riso in Minori for some of the best pastries in Italy. With 3 full days, you'll have time to explore all the towns, even Vietro sul Mare (bus only).

Jumping in here, I hope zpc does not mind: Anyone have a favorite vacation rental apartment for Praiano? We are having trouble deciding/finding one. Thanks in advance!

P.S. ZPC, you may consider hiring a BOAT driver instead of a taxi to explore the area. We are even going to try renting our own little putt-putt boat....!

We returned from our trip April 13th, it was fabulous. I hired the driver just from the train station in Napoli to Praiano and back. We did use the bus, the stop was about a block away from our hotel. We stayed at La Maurella, it was lovely it's a hotel, very quaint.

We walked the town, it's small, visited the Chiesa di San Gennaro a beautiful church in Praiano. Had a wonderful lunch at Trattoria da Armandino on the beach they are also open for dinner, also ate at the restaurant in the hotel Open Gate great pizza. We took the bus to the village of Amalfi and then transferred to the bus for Ravello. We loved Ravello, we were there for about four hours you must try the Gelato at Baffone, best I had in Italy. Another day we took the bus to Positano then the ferry to Capri and when we got back to Positano took the local bus up to Trattoria La Tagliata. I'm sure that there are a lot more places but we enjoyed these very much.

Enjoy your trip, it beautiful there.

ZPC! I just now saw your response. Thanks so much, I am printing out your notes. It is good to know that you were able to get around using public trans, as we are turning in our rental car on arrival there. Thanks again!
