Power converters/plugs

I am traveling to Italy for 12 days in Oct. Will have an IPAD 2, Ipod, cell phone and hair dryer. Do I need a converter and special adapter? Can I get by with 1 tool for all of the items listed? The IPAD is brand new and I don't want to fry the thing. Any recommendations on a converter and/or adapter? Thanks in advance.
