Going to Italy what do I need for power source for charging I phone,
hairdryer and small batteries
Everything you need to know:
https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/phones-tech/electric-adapters-converters
99.9% of hotels will provide a hairdryer.
You may not need to take the hairdryer. On our last couple of trips to Italy, even the smallest (3 rooms) accommodation furnished a hairdryer. One less thing to pack.
Most cases you won't need a power convertor but a plug adapter
Skip the Hair Dryer if it is not dual voltage. You can not carry on a trip a converter large enough to safely drop the voltage from 240V to 120V at the wattage you need. If a hair dryer is a must and you are staying in only very small family run places, then consider getting a dual voltage type (Accepts both 120 volts and 240 volts) or consider buying a low cost one there. Here is an example of one available from a common retail outlet: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/conair-reg-automatic-dual-voltage-hair-dryer-in-white-rose-gold/5200679?skuId=65451250&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_beautywellness_online&product_id=65451250&adtype=pla&product_channel=online&adpos=1o1&creative=224172320101&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&mrkgadid=558427700&mrkgcl=609&rkg_id=0&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4dLxlJrU3QIVTuDICh22sAO3EAQYASABEgLiHvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Other than that, all you need is a simple adapter.
We purchased an adapter on Amazon that also has dual USB so you an charge your phone and your tablet at the same time. It worked really well. https://www.amazon.com/Ceptics-CTU-12A-Italy-Travel-Adapter/dp/B01MZD5S6F/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1537814087&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=adapter+for+italy+with+usb&psc=1
