I'm heading to Italy on March 27th and I'll be in Naples starting April 11th. There is a dinner at a house in Rome at 8pm on Saturday evening (the 12th). I'm wondering if it's possible to get up to Rome from Naples and back again after the dinner or if I'd have to spend the night in Rome? Thanks!

Travel time is 70 min.
The distance is like from downtown Los Angeles to Tijuana, so a taxi would be expensive.
If it were me I would spend the night in Rome. That way you can enjoy your dinner without worrying about getting back to the train by a certain time...too rushed otherwise. Far easier to call a cab to take you to a hotel rather than a long trip back to Naples in the middle of the night!
Yes, that's the conclusion I'm coming to as well. We already have a place for Saturday night in Naples, but maybe I can find something inexpensive for the night!
