Which town should I spend 5 days - psitano or amalfi? Or should I split the days and stay in both?

Linda, I just got back from Italy yesterday. I spent six nights in Sorrento. I visited Positano and Amalfi. From Sorrento to Position is about one hour by bus. And from Positano to Amalfi is about another hour. Both Positano and Amalfi have a beach, both are small towns. I spent half day in Positano and half day in Amalfi. Positano have better view and Amalfi have a church. Both have small shops for the tourists. It depend what you like to spend you time on. For me, I rather stay in Sorrento and take day trip going around.

How old are you? The reason I asked is Positano is very hilly and difficult if you are older or have any issues with walking. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the information about Sorrento, Amalfi, and Positano. This has helped us make up our minds to stay in Positano. Steps are no problem. We're in pretty good shape.
