Positano vs. Priano -- and property managment referrals

Big decision. Prices are much more attractive in Priano, but are we sacrificing by staying there?
we've exhausted summerinitaly website...looking for other options. Traveling in October. any help or suggestions is appreciated

I didn't stay in either place a few months ago, but spent some time in both. For me, Praiano is a smaller version of Positano. There may be fewer properties from which to choose, and some amenities might not be the same (swimming pools, perhaps), but I'm not sure what sacrifice means for you.

Hello fellow Oregonian! Praiano is much smaller and you have to take a bus to get to Positano if you want to take the ferry anywhere. We stayed in Villa le Sirene in June and can't recommend it highly enough. The apartment was very nice, the views unbeatable and the owners friendly and helpful. www.villalesirene.com

We Stayed in Priano at the Hotel Margharita (spelling may not be right) and loved it. The town is very small but very pretty. The hotel was very nice. Views spectacular, rooms very nice and clean, nice pool. pretty good resturant with a nice menu and parking if you have a car. We had a car but when we went to Capri we took the bus to Positano to catch the ferry. The bus stop was directly in front of the hotel and it was a pretty short ride. I know Positano is much larger and if you are looking for more things to do and more resturant choices that is the place to stay. But if you are looking for price with a nice view this hotel was very nice and would stay there again in a heartbeat. By the way the people that ran the hotel were wodnerful.
