What is the best way to get to Rome from Positano? If train - what is the closest station? And if private car - where to check for prices?
I would take a private car to Naples train station, and take the train to Rome. We are using Sorrento first choice for a private car and it’s 120€ to Naples train station from Positano
In season I'd take a travelmar ferry from Positano to Salerno and then an high speed train from Salerno to Rome.
Agree with Dario. Easiest. And nice ride on the Ferry. Highlight of one of our trips.
Ditto on ferry to Salerno if operating
Lovely views
Train station is about 10 min from ferry dock
sorry to pile on - ferry and train
Keep in mind that ferries can be very crowded in season, and are subject to weather. Positano can have smaller boats than larger ports. It is important to know that you cannot safely fly out of Rome the same day you wake up in Positano.
Ditto on ferry to Salerno if operating
"if operating" is important as ferries can't dock in Positano if the sea is too rough. Best to have a Plan B to fall back on, if necessary. I'll also agree with Tim that I wouldn't plan to fly out of Rome on the same day as leaving this town on the coast.
Thanks, I'll check into the ferry to Salerno. Never thought so many would suggest that.
