Positano to Rome: 'a destra' or 'a sinistra' ? ?

Okay, so Positano has been lovely, yet now it's time to move on. If we go to the right, it's two buses (I believe, with a change in Amalfi) to Salerno and then a kinda pricey, 2-hour train (@ 10:00 or 3:00) or a cheaper, 3-hour option (nearly hourly.) If we go to the left (as a left-hander, I'm not sure I'm so trilled with being referred to as 'sinsitro') it's one bus to Sorrento, an hour on the Circumvesuviana, then a 70-minute train (hourly, but only 3Euro cheaper.) If we went right I'd be very motivated to have to get up and going quite early to make the 10 a.m. train out of Salerno (and I truly have no idea what the logistics of the transferswith luggageare.) If we went left, there's a lot more flexibility. It's only a bit more expensive, yet we'd have our luggage on the crowded, little 'Circum' train. But we'd also be able to spend an few hours in Napoli if we wanted to check our bags for a while (there is a possibility that we will not have seen the city yet with all the sightseeing choices we have over a mere six days in the area.) So there's the dilemma. If anyone has any insight, please try and help me visualize the logistics a little more clearly. (I'm still trying to figure out how the 'one-way' SITA buses get from Positano back to Sorrento.)

Bill, Given the choices, my preference would be the Bus to Sorrento and then Circumvesuviana to Naples (the "Sinistro" option). Cheers!
