Positano to Naples for 6am flight

We're staying in Positano and have a 6am flight from Naples on a Sunday morning. My thought is to check out of the Positano hotel mid-morning Saturday and take the ferry back to Naples (considered bus or driver but since we're going in mid-summer, figured ferry was the best way to avoid heavy traffic).

Option 1 - Get off the boat in Naples and get a hotel nearby and see the city sights all day. Then order a shuttle or driver for the airport for early the next morning. However, would need decent hotel recommendations and travel time from that area to airport.

Option 2 - Get off the boat and get transportation from the dock directly to a hotel near the airport. Then catch a cab back in to the city to see some sights for the rest of the day. In the evening, head back to the hotel near the airport and order a shuttle or driver for the airport in the am.

Has anyone else stayed in Positano and then had a 6am flight? What's the best way to do this in the most relaxing way possible?

Option 1.
You can also go by bus+train if you want, and there will be no heavy traffic late Saturday morn if you choose a private driver, however the ferry is nice.
The airport is only 10 minutes from the city center by taxi, therefore no reason to stay at the airport. Just ask the hotel to call you a taxi when you depart. I think the flat fare from P.zza Plebiscito area to NAP is 19€.
The area of Chiaia, near Piazza Plebiscito, is good.

Option 2 sounds best to me if you can find a good hotel at or near the airport. They will want you at the airport at 4 am. I would use booking.com for its reviews of hotels.

Airport area not so great.
10-15 minutes by taxi from the city center is not a big deal. There will be zero traffic at that time in the AM. Stay where I told you.
No need to get to airport at 4am. Check-in opens at 5am and airport is small. First departure (push out) is at 06:15 (first take off time 06:30), because there are noise abatement restrictions at NAP due to proximity to city.

Robert - I had to laugh at the departure time - only in Italy would the flight be listed to leave at 6am but actually flight take off at 6:30am - haha! Gotta love it!

Do you have any recommendations on hotels you like in Chiaia, near Piazza Plebiscito?

Actually I just saw that the flight activity prohibition is between 11pm and 6am, not 6;30.
in any case there are no flights before 6:15 am on the schedule. Those are push back time from the gate, therefore the time the flight actually takes off is at least 10 min. later.
I have no specific hotel to suggest, since I haven't been to Naples for years.

My college-aged daughter and I stayed at Hotel Piazza Belllini for three nights, several years ago. Loved the hotel, the location, the people who ran it, and especially the impeccable arrangements for late-night pick-up at the airport and early morning departure several days later. (As Roberto notes: the travel between the airport and the hotel was approx. 15 minutes.) They also knew where to send us for a great, reasonably-priced meal, nearby. Clean, friendly, and take lots of precautions for their guests' safety. Highly recommend!
