Positano / Sorrento hotel recommendations

So I'm planning a 3 week trip to Italy late April / May 2020. The next to last leg - 4 nights - is currently booked in Sorrento. We'll be coming from Florence by train and then heading to Rome by train. We won't have a car. I have found some great deals for hotels in our other locations and am willing to splurge a bit on the hotel for this stop as I picture sitting and gazing out at the sea from my terrace or balcony after fabulous day trips. So a view is key. I also want a comfortable bed, clean and pleasant surroundings, decent linens, etc. And the ability to walk to restaurants. My budget is up to $500 (possibly $600) per night. I originally thought I wanted a pool but I guess it may not be pool weather in May and that's fine. Sitting outside enjoying the air and view is great too.

Right now, I'm booked at Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento (cancellable) and the plan was to take a day trip to Positano, a day trip to Capri, maybe a day trip to Pompeii.

But as I look at pictures of Positano, I realize that I could easily take the day trip to Capri from there and maybe do Pompeii on the way to or from this location. (Question - is there baggage storage at Pompeii train station?) Ideally, I would be convenient to either a bus station, spot where a taxi could stop, or the ferry landing. As well as multiple good restaurants.

Some of the places in Positano that look unbelievably amazing are well outside my price range, but I've got my eye on a few that look nice and seem to match my critiera. Does anyone have any experience with Hotel Conca d'Oro, Hotel Palazzo Murat, Eden Roc, Hotel Montemare, or Villa Magia?

Advice on whether Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento or one of the above in Positano would better?

Thanks!

We spent a week at the Bellevue Syrene two years ago and loved it, loved it, loved it! Get a room with a seaview balcony! The view across the Bay at Vesuvius is mesmerizing. The pool is small but swimming from the “beach” is great. The salinity was high enough that you could float indefinitely without effort.
