Positano - Room w/ Great View (Recommendations)

Hello,

My husband and I are visiting Positano in September, and will be staying 5 nights. Looking for recommendations on best hotels (under $250/night) that have exceptional terraces and views?

Also, is it better to be looking out towards the west or towards the south-east?

Thanks!
Michelle

If you would be willing to give Praiano a try instead of Positano, I know a lovely small hotel with no obstructions to the water view - each room has a terrace with great views. Breakfast is included and there is free parking. You can PM me if you want the name.

Not in Positano.....it is up the hill in the tiny village of Nocelle....Villa Antica Macina. Views are spectacular. Read the reviews on booking.com.

We stayed at the Villa Franca in Positano and thought it was absolutely incredible. It sits on top of the western hill - it's the white building in the photo. Every room has a terrace w/ sea view. Rooftop pool with amazing views. Massive breakfast also with views.

Hello Michelle,

I am actually an Italian leaving abroad. I know Positano well and I would recommend to look for hotels in the area called Spiaggia Grande, in the heart of Positano, few steps away from the sea and close to shops and restaurants. I would recommend Hotel
L' Ancora, Villa la Tartana has easy access to the beach, Hotel Eden Roc and Poseidon Hotel.

You can find some more good and affordable hotels here.

I hope this was helpful for you.

Buon viaggio!

Michelle, if you would consider a B&B, I would highly recommend Villa Yiara. Delightful hosts and a very private terrace, it is one of our fondest memories. In 2013 we paid 150? eu per night: washer, TV, private terrace, fresh flowers and breakfast delivered to our terrace. Not the same amenities as a fine hotel, but truly enjoyable. Note: we arrived by ferry and did not see any porters so my husband said "we can manage ... how far could it be?" ... big mistake ... find the porters!

Thank you! All great advice! I will be carefully critiquing our options this weekend. Would you book right away if we plan to visit in September? Seems like many places have limited offerings.

When is the best time to book for a September stay in Positano? Should we book this early for Rome, Florence and Naples too?

Thank you!

Personally I would book any place as soon as I know when I'm going to be there and find one I like. Just make sure it can be canceled without too much of a penalty (no penalty is best of course). If you have to (or want to) change later you could. Too early is much better than too late.

I'd recommend Residence La Tavolozza, from Rick Steve's guidebook. Great rooms, low prices, had a huge terrace overlooking the sea. Celeste was wonderful! We've stayed there twice. Just down the street from La Sirenuse, with the same views. You can read reviews in Tripadvisor. Buona Fortuna!

As someone else mentioned, we stayed at Villa La Tartania, lovely B&B with terrace and great breakfast room with stunning views. Can't remember the price. Also book something sooner rather than later.
