Can anyone recommend a private driver, or the best way to get connected to a private driver to take us from our Positano hotel to Amalfi, Revello and Artani? Looking for a reasonable price but good service comes first. We plan to ferry back to Positano after dinner. Also be glad to get any suggested stops along the drive??

I highly recommend Ugo Vinaccia who we hired for our trip in August of 2010. I just contacted him to confirm he is still in business and it is going so well that he has added 3 additional drivers. We were traveling with my parents who are in their 70s and we actually booked Ugo for transportation from the Naples airport and for a transfer to Rome as well as the day on the Amalfi Coast. But, he will do as much or little as you need. Because of this we received a special rate. I also booked him a few months in advance to receive an additional discount. He does ask for a small deposit via paypal to hold your reservation and this is standard with most companies. His cost is certainly more than a bus tour but divided by 4 people we think this is such a reasonable "splurge". He is native to the area so his local history and anecdotes were an added plus. We just couldn't have asked for a more personable, well spoken guide and excellent driver. He will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel and stop wherever you want for as long as you like. His vehicle for us was a Mercedes minivan. We have also used the Monetti family, who we found in one of Rick's books. They were good, too, but we found their prices had gone up, so we tried Ugo and actually liked him better. You can also hire a driver through your hotel. We used them to set us up with a driver from the Naples train station to our hotel. It was a beautiful drive. Then hired him for a private tour of the coast. We think it was money well spent. We got personal attention. The driver was very knowledgable and stopped whenever we asked. For as long as we wanted. It was a great day trip.
