We are staying one week and are trying to choose a hotel in Positano. Does anyone have strong feelings about either Eden Roc, Villa Franca or Miramare? or any other suggestions ...4 star?

Cindi, One Hotel you might consider is This Hotel. It's a very comfortable and nice Hotel, and in a great location (easy walking to restaurants and the beach). Happy travels!

cindi, we stayed at the marincanto in positano and could not have been happier...it was clean, the people were friendly and helpful and the views were out of this world....we would highly recommend it....a word of caution to be given about a Delicatessen in positano on Via Dei Mulini, 5-11-12-15....they sell lemoncello and other things, they tell you that it only costs 30-50 dollars to ship a case of lemoncello home to the states, when in reality the shipping cost is 211.00 dollars...almost the cost of the lemoncello case... buyer beware...otherwise our experience in positano was one that we hope to repeat in the near future....ciao'

I second Ken's suggestion of Hotel Savoia. Location is great (minimizes step climbing to restaurants and beach), rooms are very nice and breakfast buffet is excellent. Bus stop for other Amalfi coast towns is at the end of the street and it's an easy walk from the hotel to the ferry dock. Consider getting a room with a terrace on the front side of the hotel. Very relaxing to sit out there with a glass of wine and enjoy the spectacular views.

An awesome 4-star hotel in Positano is the Punta Regina. It's one of our all-time favorite places we've stayed at in Europe. Check it out at puntaregina.com
