We are traveling to Positano for four nights. We found a lovely B & B La Fenice. It has no air conditioning but it has a lot of nice features. Is air conditioning really needed?
You do not say when you will be there which is important.
We are traveling to Positano June 28 - July 2. Air conditioning really needed?
I would be fine in that timeframe without it at that location.
Went to their website and looks very nice, appears to be perched on a good hill and over the sea with many large windows so I would expect you will get a nice sea breeze and be fine
I assume in case of a hot spell they have room fans and for me that would be more than enough.
I would caution you a little that though the place looks glorious and has many perks that will be hard to find in other Positano hotels/B&B's that it is not "in town". I am not sure how difficult the walk would be to get into the main area of town and main town beach but something I would want to research if I were you before booking to make sure it works out logistically for you.
Per google maps it is a 7 minute walk down the busy coast road to get to the top of Positano so that is before you take any steps down into town.
All things being equal I would want to stay right in the main area of town in Positano, a little up the steps toward the main coast road to get a better view but ideally not far left or right. I personally wouldn't book a place a 7 min walk away from the start of town but that is just me and if you really want solitude and R&R than being away could be a good thing.
