Portovenere?Camogli?Sestri Levante?

I am staying in Levanto for 3 nights this summer. Arrival night...will spend in Levanto. Will do Day 2 in Cinque Terre. Day 3? Not sure. I am not driving...all public transportation and cannot afford taxis. Will do trains and buses. Maybe boats if the price is decent.

Is Portovenere worth a day trip from Levanto? My Inn in Levanto recommends Camogli (HIGHLY). Based on my research, I was interested in Sestri Levante because of the shopping/eating. Then I read about this Blue Grotto near Portovenere but cannot seem to find any info online for tours into this Blue Grotto.

I like to take photos, shop and eat. I am not much into hiking (not in good enough shape yet after losing 100+ pounds recently), cannot do excessive inclines or a lot of stairs. I am not into seeing museums. So...on my 3rd day in the area I will either go North or South. Not sure...open to ideas. Thoughts?

I like Portovenere. It isn't big but its cute. There is another post here about the Blue Grotto that gives a website. The church and castle, and the Bay of Poets, give lots of photographic opportunities. Eating on waterfront is nice. Take the ferry up the coast and photograph 5 Terre from thr sea. It is fun! Enjoy.

We loved Camogli. And it's flat. We liked Portovenere also, but to really see the sights you've got lots of uphill (maybe not if you don't want to tour the castle and so forth). We actually didn't like Sestri Levante as well as either of the other two.

Thanks so much for your insight :-) especially about the terrain. If anyone has that link that tells how one can take a boat ride to the Blue Grotto near Portovenere, I would love that!
