Hello,
We would appreciate recommendations for dinners in Portovenere and Pienza. We aren't "foodies" ; looking for places with good ambience and / or lovely views. Visiting in early May. Thanks for any suggestions,

Pienza- this place is just outside the walls on NE end of town. it was right next to our hotel. We saw it during the day and decided to give iit a try as we didn’t feel like walking far.
It was amazing. Wonderful friendly staff, the best cacio a pepe we’ve ever had, homemade fresh pasta.
It was so good we ate there twice. Seemed to be mostly locals there

If you want to eat with a view in Porto Venere the entire waterfront is lined with bars and restaurants that will provide a view of the bay along with dinner.
An alternative is Trattorire 3 Torri https://www.trattoriatretorri.it/ set back from the circle with a view of the piazza and the castle. This isn't a recommendation because I could never seem to catch it open but the menu seemed interesting and the setting is great.
If you want to eat in less touristy restaurants without a view on the upper streets there are Antica Osteria del Carugio which serves just what the name implies - old fashioned local recipes, Porto 82 Risto-Pescheria and La Medusa which both serve high end sea food and Portivene https://www.ristoranteportivene.it/en-gb is also supposed to be good.
