Pordenone

Hello all,

My family is planning a 30 night trip to Italy in couple years. It is not out first trip, but it will be the first for our little girls. My husband's grandmother lives in near Pordenone. We plan to stay 6 to 7 nights in a hotel there.

  1. Do you have a hotel you reccomend? We stayed in one last visit, but it was outside the city and we'd like to stay closer to the train station.
  2. Besides Venice, what other day trips would you reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

The Palladian Villa di Maser is excellent and not far away is the very evocative village of Asolo. The prosecco road from Valdobbiadene to Guia was as scenic a road as one can imagine. Padua is very enjoyable with good attractions and non-touristy.

Hello....i hope you don't mind me piggybacking. I was looking for someone who had been to Asolo. I'm trying to decide between Asolo and Ravenna...I can't do both. I will have 3 nights and have been to Venice already. I need to choose, I can't do both. Can you recommend? From Asolo we can do Padua too... For the original poster she could do Ravenna?
Thanks much.

I haven't been to that area, but a friend spent several days in Udine and enjoyed them.

I'd say Ravenna would be my choice. Asolo is very nice but quite small. As idle gawkers, we saw most of the town in 30 minutes. It's almost 2 hours from Padua and the road is not an autostrada so it gets tedious.
