Going to Lake Como late April, would like to see the poppies blooming around Florence. Does anyone know the best time for this event...

Hi Walt,
We were in Tuscany for the second week of June last year and all of the poppies were in full bloom. Not sure when they start blooming though.....It was absolutely beautiful to see the rolling hills of poppies and well worth the trip.

They normally bloom around memorial day.
