Ponza and Gaeta

Hello all,
I'm about to do a sailing trip down the coast with stops in Ponza and Gaeta. Any recommendations of things to see or places to eat? thank you,
Tara

It's nice to see a question about Ponza! It's been a while since I've been, but two restaurants I've really liked are Refugio dei Naviganti, on the beach, and EEA. The recent reviews for Refugio dei Naviganti are extremely mixed, however, so I'm not sure if it's still as good as I remember. There aren't a lot of "sights" on the island, but it's a very nice place to relax, walk along the port area, thru the tunnels, etc. Many of the beaches are pebbly- Chiaia di Luna is a sandy one but is frequently closed due to rockfall. Frontone is a nice slightly pebbly beach. If you'll be on a boat you can visit more places, like the grotte di Pilato which has some manmade caves. I hope you have a wonderful time on this beautiful island.

Edited to add: If you'll be there on or near 20 June, you'll be there for the San Silverio festival, the biggest annual event on the island: https://sunsetvillage.wordpress.com/feast-of-san-silverio/

Thanks so much! We will just miss the June 20th date by a few days. We appreciate the suggestions, very excited to see it.
