I am so grateful for this forum and the recommendation for doing a private tour with Gaetano Manfredi. He was amazing and really brought Pompeii to life. He met us at the train station early on July 10 and walked us right up to the front. It is obvious that he is very well known to the staff at the archaeological site. We had such an awesome tour with him. My boys loved it too (ages 8, 12 and 15). He walked us all around and it became readily apparent that the site is way larger than I ever expected! He took many photos of our family all together. We were so appreciative for all of his wealth of information and will always remember this experience. We were so glad to just be with our family on our tour and we could ask questions and learn so much more. When there are so many tour options out there (through Viator and Get Your Guide and on site) it is hard to decide what to do. This was our best tour over our 2 weeks in Italy and was the highlight of our trip. I highly recommend him.
