What is the best route to get from the Pompeii ruins to Positano? How much time can we expect it to take? Thanks

By train/bus or by car? If by car, you can make it in just under an hour if you take the roadways to bypass the main part of Sorrento. A route including going through Sorrento should take you another 15-20 minutes. You can see the route on www.viamichelin.com

We won't be renting a car, so whatever public transportaion options are available....

From the Pompeii Scavi train station, take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento (about 40-45 minutes). Then, at the train station, you pick up the SITA bus to Positano (about 50 minutes).

A second option is to take the ferry from Sorrento to Positano.
