Looking to visit the pompeii ruins and then take a train to Paestrum. How do we get from the ruins to the main train station in pompeii town to get to Paestrum?

Walk out the back gate of the ruins or take a taxi. The Trenitalia Pompei train station is about a mile from the Circumvesuviana Pompei-Scavi stop. Once at the Trenitalia train station, you can take a train to Paestum. I believe that you will change trains in Salerno. A couple of thoughts about this journey. 1) check the schedule. There are 13 trains from Salerno to Paestum daily. However, there is a 4hr21 minute gap in train departures between 9:23 and 13:46. 2) I don't think that there is a staffed train station at Paestum. Be sure to buy your round-trip tickets at Pompei. 3) Make sure that you know the schedule for the return trains. There are 9 trains from 14:08 to 21:45. Again, there is a 2hr19min gap between 15:42 and 18:01
