For a day exploring Pompeii with two teenagers, should we buy the Pompeii Express or the Pompeii Plus that also includes the suburban villas?
Also, the ticket site lists the time as 9:00am; I am assuming this is just marking the opening of the site since you cannot select other times? But I want to be sure this is not a timed ticket entry? Does anyone know for sure?
I can't answer the time on your ticket, but I do highly recommend a visit to the Villa of Oplontis which wound be covered by the Plus ticket. It's one train station north of Pompeii Scavi and then a 5 minute walk from the station. There is also a shuttle run by Pompeii Scavi but it is a well kept secret and you'll have to search for it. We didn't buy the Plus ticket, but there was a ticket office at Oplontis (like the shuttle, it's well hidden).
