My husband decided an organized tour will not give him enough time to explore. So our plan now is to take the train from Sorrento where we are staying to Pompeii and do the site ourselves. SO....when I research skip the line tickets there are SO MANY OPTIONS! Who/where can I purchase the tickets online? We will be there October 7 - 12 and will be going to Pompeii one of those days no matter the weather. TIA

I’d just buy them when you get there
Everybody goes thru security line and I don’t think that is ever a wait either so Skip the Line is good for nothing
Just purchase tix from the official site if you must have in advance although I hope your day isn’t pouring rain as ours was!
You might consider hiring a guide at the entrance for maybe a 2 hour tour then explore on your urn afterwards.they are all licensed
Guides have access to and knowledge of what’s open/closed etc
We enjoyed our 2 hour ish tour with Mondo Guides then stayed longer afterwards

Thank you! We live in Oregon and used to the rain. When we were in Vienna a few years ago it poured almost the entire time. We just laughed. :)

I second the Mondo Tours suggestion. Pompeii is huge but a 2-3 hour tour before striking out on your own is helpful. That's what we did and then explored for another few hours on our own. Later in the week we came back and spent more time there plus a visit to the Villa of Oplontis.
Buy directly from the Pompeii website. Some ticket resellers will sell you a voucher that you have to redeem at the ticket window, meaning you're not skipping the line anyway.
