In September we will have approximately 12 hours docked in Naples from our cruise ship.
Which is the best to see in this time, Pompeii or Herculaneum?

We saw Pmpeii and loved it. So I would recommend doing this. I posted this for another person asking similar question. It is easily doable by taking the circumvenza train from Naples to Pompeii and then hire a guide at Pompeii for a couple hour tour. It is fascinating. But you really need a guide to get the most out of this site. Enjoy. I think the train is about an hour and a half from Naples if I remember correctly.
