Pompeii day trip

You'll find everything you need in the RS guidebook. It's a very easy trip to plan from Rome. I did it a number of years ago. I left on a very early train out of Rome and stopped in Naples to transfer to the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii. I spent about a few hours here. RS has a recorded audio tour through his app. Download it, pop in your headphones, and walk around without needing to constantly look at the guidebook. After this I went into Naples. Not the prettiest town, but I highly suggest you try some legendary pizza at Da Michele.

I'm hoping to find an actual tour company instead of a DIY for this trip - I'm traveling with someone who would prefer this and I'm trying to accommodate.

Try...city-discovery.com/rome/tour It sounds like this may be what you are looking for and the price is fairly reasonable. An alternative would be...enjoy rome walking tours which provides round trip transport to Pompeii then hire one of the official guides at the entrance.
