We will be travelling from Sorrento to Pompeii for the day in late April. Can my husband bring his small day backpack into the historic site.?
The goal is to carry our lightweight coats umbrella, hat, and water bottles- weather forecast pending of course . Thx
Sure. I don't remember bags being checked at all. I know we carried a small day bag. That was a couple of years ago and I have not heard of any changes.
Actually, on the Pompeii official web site it states that bags greater than 30 cm x 30 cm x 15cm are not allowed. BUT, when we visited last March, I did not see anyone checking bag sizes.
I recently saw mention that there is a place to check luggage, I believe around the corner from the Pompeii train station. You might want to scope that out just in case the backpack is deemed too large.
