Pompeii and/or Hercules

Is there a possibility that there will be a tour of Italy that would allow for time to go to Pompeii and/or Hercules? Thus far, looking at 2017, I didn't see any that allowed for time to go there. Would we have to go on a "My Way Tour" to get there? Or... do the travel consultants help you adjust your plan/schedule to fit it in? Has anyone out there gone on a tour that has been able to include Pompeii/Hercules?

Presumably you mean Herculaneum.

It is unclear what you mean by "a tour". Do you mean an RS tour, or a day tour by a local entity.

The RS Best of South Italy 13 day tour, stops at Pompeii.( day 9 )

Clarification. Yes, thank you, I do mean Herculaneum. Thank you for that. Also, by tour, I mean one of Rick Steve's Tours ... or a Rick Steve's My Way Tour. Thank you

Brenda,
Both are worth visiting. Pompeii is a vast site and can wear you out quickly. Herculaneum is more compact and intact. If you will be in Rome before or after the tour, consider the site of Ostia. It's like a more manageable Pompeii, and Rick covers a walking tour of Ostia as part of his free audio guide. https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/audio/audio-europe

If I'm reading your question correctly, you're asking whether there's a RS tour that would allow you to visit both Pompeii and Herculaneum. The Best of South Italy tour visits Pompeii as a group and would allow you to visit Herculaneum on your own during free time. It would be easiest to visit from Naples during your free afternoon there, but visiting during your free day in Sorrento is also possible (although it involves an extra hour of round trip train travel - 50 minutes each way versus 20 minutes each way). If you planned to stay in Italy for additional days after the tour, you could also visit Herculaneum the day the tour ends and then take an afternoon train to your next destination. Your tour guide will be the best person to consult. For specific questions before you commit, you could call the helpful RS Tour Dept.
