Pompeii, Amalfi Coast hotel

Any suggestions for a great hotel or B&B in or near Pompeii and also something on the Amalfi Coast?

A great option, centrally located to both (so you can stay in one hotel) is the Il Nido in Sorrento. It is a B&B style hotel which is a great place to stay, especially if you're on a budget (see Tripadvisor's rating of it as a super value). Dino at Il Nido can help you with touring of the Coast (he's a godsend), and you're only a 20 minute train ride to Pompeii.

We'll stay at Hotel Amleto, steps from the ruin, Jun 1. Ask me afterward if you're interested.

Hotel Eden Roc in Positano is really lovely and has a pool. Prices are not cheap, but this place would be my suggestion if you are for a bit of a splurge :) The views are unbeatable, staff helpful, and Positano is, well, Positano...

Allison, It has been two years, but we spent two nights at Hotel Amleto. It was a very nice hotel, the bathroom we had looked out on the front of the hotel, it was the largest bathroom on our whole trip. The young man at the desk made a great restaurant recommendation, I can't remember the restaurant name. Breakfast at the hotel Amleto, was good, they had some meat trays which were unusual. The hotel is 1 1/2 blocks from the town square, which we loved. I hope the hotel is still as I remembered, Have fun!

We just stayed at the Ulisse Deluxe in Sorrento. It was beautiful. Rick says in his book he's not sure why it's classified as a hostel, because it's more like a four star hotel, besides the prices, and I agree. We paid 65E/night for two people, king bed, big private bathroom, a/c....very nice room, very nice facility. Can't go wrong with this one....

Check out La Tonnarella in Sorrento. Great location, food, acccommodations, and a private beach.

Hi Allison,

We also just got back from Sorrento this week and stayed at the Ulisse Deluxe and loved it. We would definitely stay here again. It's a great price, clean, has air conditioning, and is a great location. Pompeii is an easy train ride away from Sorrento (approx. 30min).

And if you do stay in Sorrento a great place you have to eat one night is Ristorante Delfino on Marina Grande (the furthest to the left). I had probably the best food in my entire life there. The seafood is bought fresh that day from the fishermen and was so yummy.

Have a great trip!

Last year i stayed at Il Nido in Sorrento. It was a wonderful place to stay for a good bargain. Dino was very helpful with all my questions. I don't know a lot of Italian so it was great that he spoke english very well. The food at their resteraunt is also very good.
