Same experience. Have a brief conversation to make sure you can understand them. A live guide is a great advantage.

My guide in Pompeii was Antonio Somma and he is really good! Funny and he will make Pompeii alive I dont think Pompeii will be any fun without a guide that can relive its' tale It will be just another ruin Plus u wont see the GPS of 2000years ago! :D

Julie My family and I just got back from a fabulous 3 weeks in Italy. We used Lucia Pompeii Guide ([email protected]) She was wonderful!!. She met us at the train station and we had a 3 hour tour that was amazing. Hope this helps.
