We will be on the Amalfi Coast in October with my parents, who are in their mid-eighties. My father can walk, but not too far at a time (arthritis). Any advice? Can we rent a wheelchair? What is the best entrance? We will be taking the train from near Sorrento.
Thanks!
Phillippa, My first inclination was too say it can't be done, but I Googled "Pompeii in a wheelchair" and came up with more info than I can relay here. Looks like several guided tours that specialize in accessible Pompeii as well as elsewhere. I would highly recommend a guided tour. Pompeii is vast and confusing. A guide will make your visit more interesting and memorable, and you won't have to have your nose stuck in a book the whole time.
