Pompei to Salerno with luggage-by bus or train

We plan to take the Circumvesuviana train from Naples to the Pompei Scavi station and leave our luggage there while we tour Pompeii. We then will go to Salerno, where we planned to get a hotel close to the train station, as we make our way south to Sicily From Pompei, our choices seem to be- 1)Trenitalia - the Pompei station may be too far to drag our luggage after hours at Pompei. Are there taxis at the Scavi station? What would it cost to take a taxk to the Trenitalia station? 2) Bus I found a Sita schedule (http://www.sitasudtrasporti.it/public/tpl/campania/5001.pdf) that looks as if buses go from Pompei Scavi to Nocera Inferiore (S. Chiara) and other buses go from Nocera Inf (Croce Sud). Are these places quite close and easy to find Croce Sud from S. Chiara? Also the buses end in Salerno at "via Vinciprova" Where is that from the train station? Are there any other buses - or solutions - to get from Pompei to Salerno?
Thanks!

Diane, you've got enough specific address information to use google maps-directions to get views and distances of the stations. Then you can decide if the distances are close enough for you.

I should have been more specific in my questions: 1) do taxis wait outside the Pompei Scavi Circumvesuviana station? 2) how much would it cost to go from there to the Pompei Trenitalia station? We wouldn't take any other taxis in Italy. 3) how can I map specific Sita bus stops in Nocera Inferiore? On google maps I see one labeled "Nocera inf. Ospedale" for bus 080, but I can't find any references to this bus and if it is the one that would go on to Salerno. Bing maps didn't give any bus stops. I have found another schedule at http://www.summerinitaly.com/planning/transportation_vietri_pompeii_naples.asp#From%20Napoli%20to%20Salerno%20(10.30%20-%2014.40)
but don't know if is up to date. I assume that it would work to get out at the S. Chiara stop and ask where to wait for the buses going south from the Croce Sud stop, but thought that someone else might have figured this out.
