Plug adaptors for Italy

I have determined that all we need for our frugal electric needs is a plug adaptor, not a converter or transformer. (We will have one laptop with dual-voltage charger, one digital camera with dual-v. charger, one phone charger with same).

I have the 2-pin flat plug adaptors that I have used in the past. But we haven't been to Europe since 2007, and even then there were some recessed plugs that were a bit tricky with the flat adaptor. I've seen this beefier one, with more rounded contours:

Should we get one and take 1 or 2 of each?

Holly - they do not need a converter. Their equipment will work on either voltage. What they need is a plug adapter so their US plugs will fit in Italian outlets.

I never had a problem with just a basic two prong adapter. Length of the prongs was never an issue with me.

Holly, the don't need a converter just an adapter. The electronics are dual voltage. If they were taking a clock or hair dryer they would need the converter as these types of things are not dual voltage.

Lola, you should be fine with the adapter you have. If in doubt, you can go to Magellans.com to compare what you have with what they say you will need.
