I am driving from Venice to Vernazza in July. Because I want to do some sightseeing along the way, I will likely not arrive in Vernazza until late afternoon. I am very worried about the parking situation since everything I read says that parking is VERY limited (and taking the train, for me, is not an option). Can anyone provide any words of advice to ensure I have a parking spot in the lot near Vernazza? Is there any way of reserving a spot in advance? Any advice would be appreciated - its the one variable on the trip that I can't figure out how to fix!

I suggest that you sightsee along the way and stay somewhere away from Vernazza overnight. Then drive or train to Vernazza early in the morning. Levanto or La Spezia have numerous hotels and could make a good overnight stop. You could leave your car there and take the train on to Vernazza. Or, you could drive into Monterosso in the morning to get a parking space in the seaside parking lot there. From there take the train to Vernazza.
