Please help me pick a hotel - Rome

Between these four, which would you pick and why?

  1. Five Rooms Rome Guesthouse - Via della Consulta, 1b 3 floor int. 18, 00184 Roma RM, Italy
  2. hotel Pacific - Viale delle Medaglie d'Oro, 51, 00136 Roma RM, Italy
  3. Casa Sotgiu - Viale Giulio Cesare, 14, 00192 Roma RM, Italy
  4. room Select Via Veneto - Via Piemonte 63, Via Veneto, 00187 Rome, Italy

Could I do better? My criteria is need to be near a station and a nice neighbourhood. Need twin beds and air cond. Going in June. Hoping to spend less than EUR150 per night but if have washing machine will go a bit higher. Preferably a supermarket near by.
Planning to do things on the non vatican side. I will be moving over to the vatican side later.

Thanks

I'd skip over the places on the Vatican side of the Tiber since your sightseeing targets are across the river during this part of the trip.

I'm not familiar with the specific blocks the other two are on (have you walked the streets around them on Google Maps?), but just from looking at the map, the via della Consulta location looks more convenient if you're travelers who like to walk a lot. However, that address looks as if it may indicate a place on the European third floor (the US fourth floor). Is there an elevator? I wouldn't be happy about dragging my suitcase up and down that many stairs, nor would I be happy negotiating them without a suitcase if there are no handrails (a situation I've encountered even in some European hotels).

Thanks, yeah all has a lift.

How about via veneto, how is that one in terms of area and location?

I didn't stay in any of those areas myself, just walked through them. Via Veneto is a high-end shopping street, very commercial. I wouldn't particularly want to be near it. But the place on your list isn't on Via Veneto, it's four blocks away. I'm not fond of people who use misleading descriptions for their locations, but it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the hotel/apartment.

The most practical location depends on which specific sights you plan to see and whether you'll be mostly on foot or will want to use the Metro as much as you can. Rome's Metro doesn't have very good coverage; it's not like the Metro in Paris or the Underground in London, so it's a good thing there are a lot of buses.

The best way to get a feel for the area around a hotel is to walk it on Google Maps.
