Please critique my itinerary schedule

We are travelling with a toddler, first time to Europe. Will have 12 days to travel not counting the arrival (Sep1, Venice) and departure (Sep 14, Paris) days. Arriving in the evening and leaving in the afternoon.
Can we see more or are we being too conservative? I want to do less travel in between and spend more time in each city.

Here's the itinerary schedule:
Sep 2: Venice
Sep 3: Venice
Sep 4: Leave Venice for Rome. Is 2 days enough for Venice?Just introduction to Venice is good for this trip. What time should we leave? Can we take a side trip here? How long does it take to reach Rome by train?

Sep 5: Rome
Sep 6: Rome
Sep 7: Rome
Sep 8: Rome
Sep 9: Leaving Rome for Paris. What time should we leave ideally? Morning or Afternoon? Any side trips? How long does it take to reach Paris from Rome?

Sep 10: Paris
Sep 11: Paris
Sep 12: Paris
Sep 13: Paris
Sep 14: Leave for home!

Thanks.

Sonia,

Considering your other discussions re: your toddler, I think this works well. While you are in Rome you might consider a day trip if your little one has adjusted well and is having a good time!

Safe Travels.

"How long does it take to reach Paris from Rome?"

That depends--are you going by train, air, or driving?

That looks like a very doable itinerary. Good job! Have fun! p.s.--I would probably take a plane from Rome to Paris.

My only critique is that taking a toddler to Venice would not be my first choice. Water is an easy thing to fall into and there is water everywhere there... Just would be one more worry I wouldn't want to have. Seems like it might be on the must see list for you though. But keep in mind if you are there first you will be very jet lagged and chasing a tired kid with water everywhere would be an added stressor.

Other than that I like your plan. I wouldn't add anything else. Paris is a particularly great city with a toddler. You will have a fantastic time.

Sonia,

You've done well. Resist the urge to add more locations. Every move is a bit of a pain, esp. when traveling with a toddler.

Two full days is plenty for Venice. Make sure you take some time to just wander and get lost. You can always head to the Canal for a water taxi ride back to your hotel's neighborhood.
