I'd put Florence/Tuscany in the middle of the itinerary, since it is in between those two places. Do you have more than 10 nights? If so, you could add Verona or Ravenna, both of which are not far from Venice... In fact Verona is halfway between Venice and Milan. Easy peasy! If you only have the 10 nights for Italy, then you already have plenty to fill that time. Too much, some would say.

Too much moving about. Two nights in Venice = one full day. Then you spend an entire day (6 hours at least) going to the Cinque Terre only to have one full day there. Transit to Florence will take a morning, and then you have 1.5 days there. Good idea above to put Florence between Venice and the CT, but it's still a lot for 10 nights. The CT is an outlier for you and it takes a long time to get there for only two nights. Why not drop it and add a night each to Venice and Florence? The extra night in Venice will be especially nice at the start of your trip when you are jet-lagged.
I would guess Florence would be a decent departure point for Prague.

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it!!

So I made a small change in my Itinerary after reading your comments. I really do not want to drop CT since this place is one of the reasons I am visiting N. Italy. And I actually have 2 weeks to travel around here.

Milan-straight to Ravenna (1 night)-Venice (3 nights)-Florence (2 nights)-tuscany area (4 nights)-get a train from Florence to cinque terre ??????or should I drive all the way to CT and drop my car there????(2 nights)-and possibly back to florence to fly out to Prague?

Thank you so much!

You'd need to go from Milan to the C/T.
Then take the local train down to LaSpezia and get train tickets on a regional train over to Florence.
From Florence to Venice is quick and easy on a fast train (149 miles.) You'll need reservations.
You didn't say if you were going directly from Venice to Prague. If so, you can fly inexpensively on Wizz Air out of Trevisio--just north of Venice. You can catch a bus to the airport from Venice. Otherwise, you'll have a long train ride up to Prague.

I am not sure where to fly out from to Prague. After CT I would like to go somewhere near to fly out to Prague.
so you are saying that after CT I should go to Trevisio to fly out to Prague?
I am also confused how to get back to Milan to go to CT after my trip in Tuscany area.

so another revised plan...
milan-train to venice (3 nights)-train to florence (2 nights) -tuscany area by rental car ( 4 nights)-BACK TO MILAN??to go to CT??-CT 2 nights or can I drive to CT and drop off my car there???- back to Trevisio near Venice to fly out to Prague???????

thanks so much..!!

I think the advice here is to streamline your route by making a "U". From Milan head south to the CT - about 3 hours on train. Then inland through Tuscany and Florence. Finally up to Venice, and a flight to Prague.

We're doing something similar next month.

Enjoy!

Oh, I understand.
so..
Milan-CT-Florence-drive thru Tuscany-drive to treviso- Venice-back to milan then fly out toPrague. Then I am coming back from Prague to Milan.-lake como and some other cities possibly..
I tried to get an easyjet from florence and venice and they do not operate. the only place I can take easy jet is from Milan. So I have to come back to Milan to fly out to prague. Also, Wizz air is more expensive than the easyjet.

And is there anyway I could fit in Firenze? I am pretty flexible with dates...

please give me more suggestions if this sounds not ideal..thanks!
