Please advice on 3 -4 days itinerary in Amalfi

Hi, Still deciding on whether to spend 3 or 4 days in Amalfi. Haven't done research yet but We'll use Sorrento as our homebase. We plan to see Pompeii, Capri. Heared about Ravello and Positano but not sure what to see there. We'll not do a sidetrip of Naples as we will have seen some of it coming from Rome. Thanks.

We spent four days in Sorrento last year. Spent one day in Capri, and one day taking the bus tour of Amalfi coast. We were able to do the whole coast in one day....Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello A great restaurant in Ravello is Campo di Cosimo..(not sure of the spelling) but it is wonderful. We took another day and just went to Positano to sit on the beach. Also spent one day going to Pompeii.
Enjoy!

What to see in Ravello is the town itself, which has the most spectacular views imaginable. It's a good place to walk around, sit in the square, and tour the ruined palazzo and gardens. We spent a night there several years ago and loved it. We ate in a restaurant (name forgotten) where we were the only customers, and they were so glad to see us we got free glasses of limoncello.

Spending 3-4 days there isn't a bad idea; we spent 3 nights in Sorrento last year. We did Amalfi and Pompeii as day trips and hit up Positano on the way back from Amalfi. We didn't do Ravello or Capri. There isn't a lot to see in Sorrento, but it is very relaxing (and it did make a great home base for exploring the region). Based on what you said, I'd recommend 4 days - one day trip to Pompeii, one day trip to Capri, one day trip to Amalfi and Positano (don't leave Positano out - it's a very neat little town), and one day to spend in Sorrento.
