Never been south of Rome during 3 previous visits. I am hoping to find a hotel in both cities that is basically a historic building sort of like the Paradors of Spain. Suggestions wellcome.

Though not like the Paradores, I stayed at the Art Resort Hotel located in Galleria Umberto in Naples. Art/artist themed, large comfortable room, excellent breakfast, wonderful location near the Piazza del Plebiscito and Gambrinus, convenient to metro and funicular to reach Castel Sant’Elmo for the best view of Vesuvius, Capri and the Bay of Naples. Great dining experience at the nearby Osteria ail Gobetto.

We will be staying at the Palazzo Natoli in Palermo in May. I wanted a historic building close to everything and this fit the bill.
