I wanted to say thanks again everyone for all the amazing help we were given for the trip we took this past March! We have decided to completely revamp our wedding and instead of spending the $15K that it was turning out to cost we are doing a small Church wedding and afternoon reception for under 3K for about 40 close family and friends and leaving the next day for another trip to Italy IN Fall 2012!! Were so excited and will again be coming to you all for help with our itinerary!! Thanks again!! :)

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I like your new wedding plans. Sounds like you got the "bug" after your first trip to Europe this past March. Italy in the Fall is wonderful. Congrats, again.

Thanks Denise!! It actually wasn't my first trip to Europe, I have been to London twice and Paris once but it was my fiance's first trip! I'm just getting the traveling itch back and also I'm having issues with spending $15K for one day...lol!! Thanks again!!!

Bethanne, Congratulations! It's nice to see you'll be starting things with another great holiday in Europe. I agree with you on the matter of spending $15K for a one day celebration. I can somewhat appreciate that philosophy, as I also elected a smaller and more informal wedding (that was many years ago). While it's always nice to have a big ceremony to remember, I think both of you will enjoy a memorable holiday in Europe more, so better to spend the money on that! I'm sure the expert group here will be able to help you plan a perfect honeymoon holiday! Cheers!

Congratulations. I too honeymooned in Italy, back in 1996. Venice, Rome, Florence and Amalfi. It was a magnificent way to start our marriage! We are revisiting most of those cities this July (subtituting CT for Florence) in celebration of our 15th anniversary - with our two children, 9 and 13.

Congrats! We also went small wedding, fabulous honeymoon :) We got married last summer and spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica... and now are spending our first anniversary in Italy! Happy planning :)

Ya know my fiance had planned on proposing to me in Venice on a Gondola (such a cutie) when we were supposed to go September 2010 but work issues made us move the trip until this past March 2011 and he couldn't wait so he did it on Christmas day... Soo while we were finishing our last minute planning for Italy I started to get into the whole wedding planning mania...and the costs just kept getting higher and higher. Then we took our trip and returned our perspective changed on many things, including spending so much money for one day!! So here we are, having a very small wedding and reception on a Saturday next Fall and then leaving for Italy the next day!! Were just starting our new itinerary planning and will be hitting everyone up for help soon!! Thanks everyone!!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I, too, had a very small wedding and enjoyed it much more than I would have a larger one. I'm so glad your Italy trip was amazing and that you're going back. Thanks Donna!! I'm sure it will be magical, especially since it will be our second trip and we will now have a base comfort with getting around Rome, etc... Bob!!! Thank you!! I do think that I won't regret spending all that money and putting it towards traveling!!! Goo Eagles!! :)
