Planning my Italy Itinerary

I am heading to Rome in July to meet my daughter who has been studying in Paris. Staying in Rome for two nights then to Tuscany for 3 nights then to the Villa della Pergola in Alassio for 4 nights then. Ack to Rome. I have some questions that I would appreciate any opinions on:
1. What is the best way to get from the airport to our hotel in Rome (Hotel Flora on Via Veneto).
2. Suggestions for where to stay in Tuscany for 3 nights...considering an apartment through Italy Perfect which is in the Val d’Orcia area. Also any suggestions on a cooking class...?
3. We end up in Alassio so any suggestions for restaurants or places to visit near Alassio would be great.
4. We leave Alassio to head back to Rome but it’s about a 6.5 hour drive so thinking we should stop somewhere halfway between Alassio and Rome for one night then we’ll have one night in Rome before departing for home. Any thoughts on where to stay for a night on the way back to Rome?

Thank you in advance for any recommendations about Italy!

Taxi from FCO is a fixed rate I think still 48 euros
Go outside and get in taxi line, hand driver the name of your hotel and the 48 euros
Simple

Do not go with anyone “offering” a cab, only use the official taxi rank

Not clear on your transportation? Assume you will get a car leaving Rome?
I'd probably drop the car in Alassio and train back to Rome. You won't need or want it in Rome.
Looks like a 7 hour train ride, unless you like 1 night stays go all the way to Rome and spend last 2 nights there.

If you want that 1 night stop, Lucca is about halfway.

Could you fly into Rome and out of Milan? Alassio straight to the Milan airport (without going into Milan at all) is a 2 hour and 40 minute drive.

Thank you Christine. Great suggestion about the train. Will look into dropping car in Alassio or alternately stopping in Lucca.
Thanks again!

Thanks Nancy...another good option...in fact maybe even go to Milan and fly home from there if we can change our flight without too much trouble!

Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino Terminal 3 to Termini Station is about 14 euro/person. It takes about 30 minutes and they run about every 30 minutes.
