Planning a Venice & South Tyrol Honeymoon – November 2025 – Restaurant Recs?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are planning our honeymoon for November 2025 and would love any input from fellow food lovers or travelers familiar with Venice or South Tyrol.

We know November isn’t peak season, especially for the mountains, but we’re leaning into the slower pace and cooler weather. We’ve booked three amazing hotels and plan to spend our time eating well, relaxing in spas, doing some light hiking (weather permitting), and soaking in the scenery and local culture.

Here’s a quick overview of our itinerary:

Arrival in Venice
Venice (2 nights)
South Tyrol/Dolomites (6 nights)
Casa maria luigia (2 nights)
Flying out of Milan

We'll likely do a day trip to Innsbruck, explore Bolzano and smaller mountain towns like Merano or Brixen, and mix in a few hikes depending on trail conditions.

We’re big foodies, so finding memorable places to eat is a huge part of this trip for us. I’ve found lots of restaurant suggestions online, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually worth it versus just popular on Instagram or TripAdvisor.

If anyone has been to:

Venice – Any “must-do” romantic or unique dinner spots? We’re already considering Club del Doge at the Gritti and maybe Cip’s Club.

South Tyrol/Bolzano area – Any favorites for Tyrolean cuisine, hidden gems in the mountains, or Michelin-level spots worth the splurge? Also open to casual spots, wine bars, or mountain huts with great views and hearty food.

Any firsthand recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

The following might not meet everyone's definition of a must do romantic or unique dinner spot, but you can check them out online and see what you think.

In Vencie, in the Rialto Bridge area consider, Trattoria Da Marco Valla Fava on Calle Stagneri. A bit off the beaten path, but with google maps you should be able to find it. Not as pricey as the two places you mentioned, but they have some of the best sea food ever!! Try to eat inside rather than outside. The place has been around at least 50 years so they must be doing it right.

Also in the Rialto area (on the other side of the Grand Canal), when walking to Piazzale Roma, is an out of the way, local place named Pane Vino e San Daniele on Calle Dei Boteri. Great for lunch! Not romantic, but really authentic. Definitely a local place, good food, good house wine, and not expensive at all.

You should be able to research both before you leave home. Hope this helps. Love long and prosper.

In Venice, Ai Mercanti is excellent. Very creative menu.
