Planning a ski trip to the Dolomites

Hi. I’m trying to plan a ski trip this December to the Dolomites and am looking for advice. I’ll be flying into Venice and then probably taking a bus since it looks to be the easiest, quickest and cheapest option.
Not keen on driving in possible snow in unfamiliar terrain.
Looking at options for an Airbnb house or a hotel right in town. There will be 8 of us. Trying to avoid renting a car because - possible snow & I’m from Florida! -
Had anyone skied there? Advice on a house that would give us more room but would be further away vs the ease but less space of a hotel?
Also - any advice on ski storage near the lifts?
I will add that I’ve been to the Dolomites previously and have driven through them, but in the summer.
Any experienced advice would be appreciated.

A hotel will be much easier to find. Larger self-catering properties within easy reach of the slopes are very scarce in the Dolomites. I do not know the area well enough to give recommendations.
Coming from Venice, the resorts that are easiest to reach would be Arabba and Corvara on the main "Sella Ronda" area.

Skied the dolomites several times. Cortina, Canazei, Selva (twice), Madonna di Campiglio (twice). Selva is hands down my favorite. It is on the Sella Ronda ski circuit. A little more difficult to reach from Venice airport. Bus (or taxi) to Venice Mestre train station, then train to Verona, change to train to Bolzano, change to a bus to Selva.

Cortina is easier to reach from Venice as there are direct buses in the winter, although I don't know the schedule. You might need to wait a day in Venice.

I hope you choose to rent skis there. Good equipment available there at reasonable prices, and the airlines will charge you to haul your skis each way. There should be places by the lifts to store them, although I always brought them back to the hotel. There may be times when you choose to take a bus to a different area the next day. Cortina has 3 separate areas on opposite ends of the town. In Selva, you may choose to take a bus to Ortisei and ski the Alpe di Siusi.
