Planing to visit Italy!

Hi, everyone!
Need your help. My family is planning to visit Italy. They plan to do it in July for 7 days.
Wish to stay next to the sea where is possible to swim and not dangerous. The maximum travelling time from the airport to the place should be no longer than 2 hours if it is possible. They plan to book an apartment.Planning to have breakfast and lunch at the apartment and once a day going to the cafe and restaurants. Wish to live an area which is not that noisy but where is possible to have a walk and enjoy the city. I mean not living next to the clubbing area. Also, would be great to have cities next to the beach which is possible to reach easy and to spend time there. Any suggestions? :)
Thank you!

Fly in to Pisa and stay in Viareggio or some other city on the coast.

I will suggest Tarquinia, about 2 hours north of Rome. It has interesting archaeological sights from the Etruscan era and a nice beach with umbrella rentals, lockers, all facilities. It is near enough to Rome that you could take a day trip to see the Roman sights that most interest you. To my knowledge Tarquinia is not a trendy clubbing spot, but check on websites like TripAdvisor for updated reviews.

Whatever you decide, you'd better book soon because July is peak beach vacation season.

Ah, forgot to ask... What do you think about Ischia? I know it is no that far away from Naples. is is a good place to stay there?

Ischia is wonderful! It is a large island with four major towns, very lush, and lot's of variety to do for every kind of traveler age etc.

I have been there for a week every other year for the last 12 years...it is fantastic for real sandy beaches, historic sites, archeological sites, and just relaxing in the famous waters!

I usually stay in Naples on my last night for easy of airport departure, I arrive in the late morning check in and see the city, in case of a first time visitor, I would see the Archelogoical museum and Herculaneum..it is easier than Pompeii, better preserved and has shaded areas...July is AFRICA HOT..so be prepared. :)

Fly into Naples ( lock luggage in main train station) see Herculaneum 2.5 -3 hrs with travel and quick snack break
Return to Naples and see Archeological musuem if you want 2 hours this can be done on the day before you fly home.
Pick up bags head to port and take ferry to Ischia 1 hr
Ischia for how ever many nights you have 3 is good!

If you will not see Rome then fly directly to Naples, take a taxi directly to the port ( great view or Mt. Vesuvio) and 1 hr ferry to Ischia
See Naples area archeological sites on your last day stay one night in Naples before flight home.

Check your in box!

Ciao

One place I've stayed a few times is Trevignano Romano on Lago di Bracciano. It is about an hour from Rome airport, on a beautiful calm lake. It's a sleepy, charming town where Romans go for the weekend. There are no hotels but there are apartment rentals. You can rent boats, swim, fish, etc. If you wish to visit Rome, it's a quick 40 min train ride to the center of Rome. We took the train in many times and it was so nice to visit the city but come home to a quite little apartment.

Enjoy your trip where ever you choose!
