Looking to stay in La Maddalena for a few days. Any suggestions on a hotel. We are considering the Grand Hotel Ma&Ma but have seen mixed reviews. Also how long is too long on the island since it is rather small we love beaches and small villages. I want to dive around and rent a self guided boat and tour the beaches.

I usually stayed at Santa Teresa, and took boats from there. I usually stayed at least 10 days and never got bored. Some of my friends with a vacation house there stayed for the entire summer when we were in high school. If you like beaches and beautiful sea, that part of the world is pure heaven on Earth. If you stay just a few days I'm pretty sure you will call in sick and not show up for work for several more days.
